Wow!! We Received Citations from the Police Commissioners!

We were honored to receive citations from the Port Washington Police Department at the June Police Commissioners meeting for our work on our driver safety initiative.  It's nice for kids to be recognized by community leaders!  Here are three photos from the ceremony.  1) With Deputy Chief Robert Del Muro, Commissioner Angela Lawlor-Mullins, Commissioner James Duncan, Commissioner Dave Franklin and Deputy Chief Jeffrey Morris (missing from photo is Girl Scout Rebecca Muratore.)  2) Listening to Commissioner Franklin read a citation for our leader, Linda Nutter, and 3) reciting the Girl Scout Promise with Commissioner Lawlor-Mullins (a former Girl Scout!)

Harborfest 2014

At this year's Harborfest, we worked at the Police Department table and handed out "no texting and driving" giveaways.  Here we are with Police Commissioner Dave Franklin, Deputy Chief Robert Del Muro, and Detective Tony Guzzello.  (Missing:  Scout Gianna Guzzo)

Sorry for the summer break!

It seems that the end of school is very busy for 8th graders!  We are behind in our posts but have some updates to make.   Stay tuned!!!

Look for Us at Harborfest!

At this year's Harborfest, we will be joining with the Port Washington Police Department to hand out no texting while driving goodies at their table.

Meeting Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth

Supervisor Bosworth attended the May 4th Momtreprenuer Fair and was interested in our campaign.  We're looking forward to working with her office to help spread the word throughout the Town of North Hempstead.

Momtrepreneur Fair!

On Sunday, May 4th, Port Washington held its second annual Momtrepreneur Fair. Thank you to Amanda Khalil and Cynthia Litman for allowing our troop to attend and hand out our flyers. The fair went very well, and everybody seemed to enjoy all of the vendors who attended!

Our Poster is Done!

We'd like to give a huge thank you to community member, Nancy Sinoway for helping us brainstorm about a design for our poster. We'd also like to thank her for hiring graphic designer James Konatich, who brought our slogan to life! We absolutely love how it came out, and you should look for it around Port Washington soon. It will also be put up around Weber Middle School to promote safe driving to teachers and students, who are future drivers!
